TITLE: HIDDEN FIGURES AUTHOR: MARGOT LEE SHETTERLY PUBLICATION YEAR: 2016      This story is entitled Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly and published year 2016. This book chronicles the experiences of Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, Katherine Johnson, and Christine Darden, four African-American women who pioneered the fields of mathematics and engineering at NASA.      During World War II, NASA, then known as NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics), started hiring women as female computers. These women effectively performed mathematical tasks but were classified as sub professionals in order to receive lower pay.   CHRISTMAS LIGHTS The air of holiday embraces me. I can hear the lyrics of the song, “pasko na sinta ko hanap hanap kita”. The song that brought me in the past. “Pops, don’t forget your promise” “Okay, little girl, I will not forget”. “you wait me here”. “Bye” Those were the last words, I hear from him. Same song that I don’t want to hear anymore. The song that always pierces my heart. My neighbors’ houses are full of Christmas decorations. People are excited to decorate their house with Christmas lights; Christmas tree and they always play Christmas carols. They all look so happy. “Good evening! Merry Christmas, Ms. Angel”. “Hello, Mrs. Cruz,”   “I brought you food.” “You’ve been bringing me food, Mrs. Cruz every holiday.” “Let me do it Dra.   BLESSED INDEED An acrostic by Lei     B attling in your daily life was never easy, L ife indeed is full of happenings that surprises me, E normous challenges along with great opportunities. S he is weak, but never defeated, S he is limitless but always prospered and, E ncouraged, enlightened, and loved by Him.  D arkness tries to hinder and take the light from her but I ncredibly ignited with her Father. N umerous failures and feels hopeless often,  D isobedience and deceitfulness towards other, however,  E xpressing, confessing and asking for forgiveness is the key. E verything counts and everything has consequences, no one is excuse neither is she, but; D espite all she did, she continued to be accepted and forgiven. Blessed indeed.
